Financial Poise™ Webinars and West LegalEdcenter are pleased to announce the November 18th premiere of a new webinar “Employment Law 101″ designed to introduce attorneys and business owners to the basics of managing human capital. Moderator Robert Sieland of DeVry Education Group is joined by panelists from Arnstein & Lehr, Hoge Fenton, Outten & Golden and Charles Krugel
While the basics about virtually anything- the law included – seem accessible with a few clicks of a mouse, understanding how to use the law practically is another thing. This Financial Poise Webinar series, One Hour Law School 2016, explores some of the most common issues faced by business owners, viewed from the real world. This series will jumpstart your understanding of key legal issues and, importantly, discuss practical approaches to dealing and thinking about these matters. You’ll learn how to start a company, work with employees and partners, and protect your business’s interests.
The third episode of the series, Employment Law 101, airs November 18th at 2pm CST (register here) and features Moderator Robert Sieland of DeVry Education Group. He is joined by Gene Geekie of Arnstein & Lehr, Sarju Naran of Huge Fenton, Paul Mollica of Outten & Golden and Charles Krugel of Charles Krugel Labor & Employment Law on Behalf of Business.
Human capital. Ultimately, businesses grow and thrive- or can die- based on the performance of their employees. Hiring, training, and retaining good employees is critical. At the same time, so is getting rid of bad people. Caution must be taken when ending an employment relationship. In this webinar, Financial Poise explores time-tested approaches to performance management and terminating employment relationships. We’ll also explore best practices for recruiting and managing employees.
All of these issues are discussed in plain English, and while the series is valuable for seasoned professionals in many fields (law, accounting, investment banking, etc.) who practice in this area, it is also easily understandable for business owners who have not previously been through these processes.
As with all Financial Poise webinars, each episode in the series is designed to be viewed independently of the other episodes, and listeners will enhance their knowledge of this area whether they attend one, some, or all of the programs. Previous episodes in the One Hour Law School 2016 series include Forming a Company, and Splitting the Pie:Basics of the Cap Table, and are available on-demand through West LegalEdcenter.
