I’m very excited to announce that in mid-October, I was elected to the Board of Directors for Youth Outreach Services (YOS), http://www.yos.org/.
Started in Chicago in 1959, YOS is a fully accredited and licensed child advocate that provides counseling, intervention, preventive care (e.g., health), housing and family services, like foster care & transitional living programs to Chicago-area youth & their families. YOS is accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Services for Families and Children, Inc., & licensed by the Illinois Department of Children & Family Services, the Illinois Department of Human Services (for Level 1 and Level 2 substance abuse), the Division of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse, & is licensed as a Multisystemic Therapy (MST) provider.
I remain on the boards of the The Chicago Bar Foundation’sYoung Professionals Board (the philanthropic arm of the Chicago Bar Association), the Lakeside Community Committee, a 45 year old foster care and home/living services for needy children in Chicago; Vice Chair of the Board and Chair of the Government Affairs Team for the Greater O’Hare Association, one of Chicagoland’s largest business associations; Board Chair for the YMCA Alliance, the adult education and workforce development arm of the YMCAs of Chicago; board member for ChildServ, a 115 year old child advocacy and children’s group home organization; and the Small Business Advocacy Council, the voice for small-to-medium sized businesses in Chicago.
Congrats on the appointment. I have been following your blog for a very short time, but it seems like you would be an asset to just about any organization that you could buy into. This one sounds like an amazing opportunity to shape the next generation.
