Years ago, I represented Oak Leyden Developmental Services as their attorney, then became a board member and subsequently became board chair. Recently, I learned of their initiative with StayLitt Electric, IBEW 134/NECA (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and National Electrical Contractors Association) to revamp one of Oak Leyden’s home’s cooling systems. Oak Leyden serves children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and delays and their families by providing individualized therapy, education, housing, job placement, and comprehensive services. This is a great effort by management and labor to effectively revamp the home’s cooling and heating to make it livable for those with special needs. Below is a two minute video about the project.
